I've talked about this book before, but it is with great delight that Val Penny has accepted a ten-book deal with Spellbound Books, starting with the first in her Edinburgh Crime series, Hunter's Chase.

Hunter's perseverance and patience are put to the test time after time in this first novel in the DI Wilson Crime series.
For me, this book read like a CSI show. Realistic, lovable (and dislikable) characters, great weaving of family/friend dynamics as a crime mystery unfolds. Real-life stuff. The witty banter added an extra touch. Loved it and am excited there are more in the series!! I give this read 5-stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a page-turning read about crime investigation full of twists and drama.

Val Penny has an Llb degree from the University of Edinburgh and her MSc from Napier University. She has had many jobs including hairdresser, waitress, banker, azalea farmer, and lecturer but has not yet achieved either of her childhood dreams of being a ballerina or owning a candy store. Until those dreams come true, she has turned her hand to writing poetry, short stories, nonfiction, and novels.
Val is an American author living in SW Scotland. She has two adult daughters of whom she is justly proud and lives with her husband and their cat.
